Winter Hair Tips and Must Haves – Concihairge

the MOTHERCHIC | January 31, 2028

Just as we think we have our hair under wraps from the damage of sun and salt that summer brings, winter hair brings on a whole different host of issues. Basically I can’t keep up! And did you guys know that aging hair is a thing?! Just like your skin, your hair needs to be babied. Dry, brittle winter air means our hair needs major moisturizing. I do my best to only shampoo my hair on an “as needed” basis which winds up being 2-3 times per week. When you see me wearing a hat, you know I’ve stretched it one day too long. I’ve been using a few products that I swear by to restore moisture and protect from breakage. And my hair stylist along with other team members at my traveling salon, Concihairge, are sharing their professional winter hair tips below as well!

Use a super hydrating shampoo and conditioner. I have been using Moroccan Oil Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner. Note: the shampoo is highly concentrated so you need to add lots of water to fully activate the suds. The conditioner is amazing – you will feel the difference immediately.

Treatment is key. Before blow drying my hair I always use a dime size amount of Moroccan Oil Treatment and work it through the ends of my hair. It tames frizz, protects, and makes hair more manageable.

Baby those locks with alllll the hair masks. Just like your skin, your hair needs tons of moisturizing! I rotate between using a few different hair masks to make sure my hair stays as healthy as possible. Olaplex is a once weekly, ten minute treatment that repairs damaged hair (highly recommended by my stylist especially between color treatments). If I need a midweek boost, I use a StriVectin Hair Deep Repair Mask which you can just leave on for a few minutes in the shower. When my hair is feeling really “off” I go for the overnight mask, While You Sleep – it’s pretty amazing. I do recommend getting a shower cap or a towel turban to wrap your head in while you sleep so it doesn’t get all over your pillow. Smells amazing and your hair will thank you!
